Hi chaps and chapesses. It's been a while and I have to admit, I'm really embarrassed for not having accosted you with something for ages, but I just don't seem to be able to concentrate the way I did. Not to harp on about it, but the car accident really did something to me and ever since, I've had the devil's own job writing.

I've managed a couple of blogs and started ... well, I've tried to start many story ideas that have just wound up going round in ever-decreasing edits until I stop, thoroughly disheartened that I can't get anything together.

I was working on something that was a real departure for me, but lost the thread and then recently, I began another story that begins when a chap is about to marry the love of his life, but the Stag Night kind of throws a spanner in the works. However, yet again, I wrote about 1K of it, went back, edited, wrote a little more, edited it and wound up giving up.

I really am trying (enough to try the patience of a saint, many would say), but it just isn't coming together. So I just wanted to say that I haven't forgotten you, I do think about all of you and one of these days, I'll actually start and finish something.

At least, I hope I will.

Hugs to all

Good to see you around

Good to see you around, and I hope that concentration thing is only temporary.

Around again?

Hmm, not so much. I pop back from time to time to see how my stories are doing or not, but I haven't read anything or written anything. However, I hope this is something I can work through.

Very nice to hear from you, Kaleigh

I will certainly be trying to. Just don't hold your breath.

Did you have concussion or anesthesia/major surgery?

both have been known to cause personality changes or other changes in how you think.

If the injury to the brsin is minor over time you may recover but it can be long haul. A bit like a bad and lingering hangover.

Or for some reason you lost your muse.

If ao I think tels has a vast collection of muses.

Welcome back.

Concussion, John in Wauwatosa?

I don't know about concussion, but I certainly got a fair dollop of whiplash.

I've now got tinnitus in my left ear, which can be a real distraction and my brain definitely isn't working the way it used to - which, according to Penny, isn't such a bad thing.

I think the biggest difference has been the eighteen months thus far to get over something I walked away from. I have ended up with a big drop in confidence and being told that with fifteen years of experience in computing, programming, systems design and analysis, my experience isn't recent enough, has dented my confidence still further.

I'm trying to look on the bright side however, and look to the future - which is French-shaped. We own our own house in a little village in Normandy, which we have been to several times over the last eighteen months and worked on. Now, it's beginning to look like a home and not a bunch of rooms, but there's a hell of a lot still to do and a hell of a lot of money to find to do it with!!

My Photoshop skills have improved no end. It seems to be the only thing I can focus on and many of my pictures have actually turned out quite professional-like.

Nevertheless, it's the writing I miss the most and get frustrated not being able to do what I used to do with apparent ease. Still, I'm working on it and wouldn't be surprised if something doesn't come out of the ether very soon. Perhaps I have lost my muse, but Princess Araia might not think so. She's still stuck in an alternate universe while Jamie tries to catch up with what's happening to her and the world around her. It's a bit TG, but not ... sort of.

Then there's poor Jake, who is still trying to work his way round the issues of a Stag Night, but that is TG and I don't want to ruin it for you if - or rather when - I finish that.

Anyhow, thanks for listening, John, I'd better go and get things sorted for the evening...

Hugs,

Nick

Well, blow me down, Drea!

Haven't I seen an avatar a little similar somewhere before?

I don't know that I have returned, but I'm certainly working on it.

Thank you for the comment
