After much frustration I am finally scheduled for surgery. I go to the Buffalo Veteran's Hospital on the third of October for pre-op stuff, then back up on the fifth for surgery and back the following day for post op stuff. Then about a week to two weeks for recovery and, hopefully, I will be back to what I laughingly refer to as normal, vision-wise.

My support group leader is going to take me up there all three days, so I won't have to ride the dreadful Veteran's support bus up and back each time. Three hours up there and three hours back on that bus leaves me numb from my butt up each time. The three hour thing is because they have to pick up many other Veterans in various locations on the way to the hospital and then drop them off on the way back.

Anyway, I have high hopes for the surgery and I have full confidence in the doctors and surgeons who will be doing the work.

Thanks for the messages of support and information, everyone. Be "seeing" you soon.

Best of luck, but I'm sure

Best of luck, but I'm sure you won't need luck. The doctors will do a great job and you'll be fine.

Cataracts

My eyes are so bad, I truly do appreciate what I can see. The thought of having surgery on them, and bad side effects scare me to death. I know it is "safe" surgery and effective, but on this one, I can truly say I hope things go well, and wish I was there to help you through it.
