I'm consistently confused by the habit of some folks to post a blog that starts a discussion, then the blog is deleted -- taking with it any of the comments that others have taken the time and effort to make on the blog. |
|
Are they deleted because the commentary isn't in line with what the original poster wanted? No, that doesn't make sense -- you could just have the admin delete offensive comments. Are they deleted out of a sense of boredom? That seems more likely, but not yet bang-on, if you ask me. Sometimes these blogs aren't up even an hour before they're taken down. I'm just plain curious, what causes someone to take down such a blog? |

It'd be interesting to see the posted commentary without the original blog... discussion and evolution of a topic without a clearly stated topic.
On the other hand, I can certainly support an author's right to post, edit and remove anything she wants/writes.

Hey, What Happened?
I know I'm not the sharpest pencil in the drawer when it comes to navigating on this site; however, I made a comment on a blog about the Transgendered Time Line less than an hour ago. Now I can't find the blog. Is it just me?

Too humiliated at my own stupidity?
I deleted one; commentless, because after I'd got over my childish tantrum, the realization of how immature and narcisistic it was, that I took it down out of pure humiliation.
Most times, one of the Admin folk will beat me to it. :)

Such as?
Is there any blog in particular you're interested in seeing? If so, it would help if you be a little more specific. The person who wrote the blog just might be able to help you.

I'm not sure if
your comment was about what I wrote or what Gwen wrote. There was a good discussion going on the Transgender Time Line, I think you made a major contribution. Now I can't find it. I thought it was pretty clear what my comment was about. I made a comment about Wendy Carlos.

Ah yes...the endearing composer whose film score
was the best part of TRON!
Beware Wendy Carlos!!
A brilliant musician, incredible woman, courageous TG pioneer, and cat person, yes...
But a warning!!
If you listen to her groundbreaking electronica LP "Switched on Bach" you will have those oh, so whistle-able tunes bouncing around in your head *forever!!!!*

Not only can Wendy write and
Not only can Wendy write and make great music, she is also an accomplished photographer and has published a book with her photos of solar eclipses. She travels to almost every site of the predicted peak of solar eclipse to photograph them, even when the peak place is in a remote locale and needing special techniques to do her craft.
Lots more than just a pretty face, huh.
