Kira still has a ways to go yet. Chapter 18 is about the gown fitings and the wedding as well as the block party that will follow. I can't just say there is going to be a wedding and gown fittings without actually writing it in; that would be a serious breach of my responsibility as an author of transgendered stories. Now, I may have said this before, but sometimes even I am surprised by how a chapter turns out, and I will no doubt be surprised by chapter 18 too. Then we have the rest of summer vacation with Kira and Ken and Jessica, Marla, Darlene and Josie, as well as Josie's mom being invited to the wedding also. Ken's mom was invited at the last minute, so to speak, to come to the wedding as a bride's maid.

No ma'am, I cannot end Kira's story here. That would be a travesty. Thank you all who have read about Kira and left comments. I really appreciate it very much.

Love & hugs,
Barbara

Nice to see more, still have a few Q as a reader, likely you ...

will cover these later.

The mom was okay, and at one time clearly loved by her family but became obsessed -- is that too strong a term -- about Kira being a boy.

She has turned around admirably once the legal system and medical proof whacked her over the head with a metaphorical 2X4 a few times. That and the love Kira and the family showed her desipite her terrible mistake.

It might be nice to hear from her perspective WHY she acted as she did. The rest of the family and others saw Kira as a girl or at least a troubled boy. Why was she so blind? Could give us a powerful insight into her. IE how did a loving mother become seemingly so hardened to her family and reality?

Otherwise IMHO her turnaround seems a little abrupt, at least without an explanation. Was it her finally seeing logic? Was she mentally ill and has temporally recovered to maybe *snap* again? Still it is fiction so things by necessity are speeded up. She has apologuised but still I wonder why did she think as she did before she saw the light?

Thanks for posting, Barbara.
