1- There's a Tropical Depression south of Cuba that likely will become Tropical Storm Nicole. All the computer models predict the storm to come through South Florida. Which is where I live.

It will be either a strong TD or weak TS. Still 40 MPH winds can cause power outages and other inconveniences.

2- Our family car was hit yesterday by a woman backing out of a parking space as my wife was going to visit her mother. The car is running but has over $1,000 worth of body damage. Most of which consists of the front passenger door being banged in and not able to open now.

I filed a claim with the other driver's insurance and am waiting for the adjustor to call me. Yes I got collision insurance, but would prefer the other driver(who is at fault) to pay. Another headache for me and I got plenty of them now.

3- Nanay suffered a stroke on Saturday. She is confused a little, don't talk much, and now is sleeping almost constantly. Her younger daughter the nurse is with her now and Nanette wants the neurologist to see Nanay again. She can't be fed.

Next January 8th is Nanay's 76th birthday. I think it will take a miracle for her to still be alive then.

I'm actually thinking of trying to work on DHCF Part 25. Even if I do only a little daily. It might get my mind off everything else going on around here. Minesweeper gets boring after a while.

Update-

Nanette called my wife. Nanay's breathing isn't very good. I'm going to the hospital as soon as the wife picks me up.

Nothing much

There's nothing much any of us here can say or do except feel a bit of your sadness for you and your family. Our thoughts are with you.

Hugs,

Damn but it seems fate has it in for you at the moment

I remember well your battle with cancer, an ongoing one as I recall.

Now your mother-in-laws fight with cancer and a stroke, the car accident -- thank the deity of your choice your wife was unharmed -- and what will happen next?

Oh the huricane!

I have a windshield to replace -- being done tomorrow -- emmisions testing, maybe a pair of tires at the moment. I likely need reading glasses BADLY and we cut back 25 percent of our bank branches recently. And the Packers sucked last night. And the lawn needs mowing, a 15 minute job. HORRORS !

All in all my *trials* are a joke compared to yours, Danielle. Write when you feel like it, we understand.

Flooding Iminent

RAMI

As I write this I keep checking how the weather is, since I also live in South Florida, and the streets in my neighborhood flood all the time. May need to sandbag to prevent water flooding my living room.

I hope the best for Nanay and your family.

P.S. I am send you a PM regarding the accident.

Carolina

Here in Carolina we're not due anything over a few inches. However, this is the first real heavy rain we've had in the new place. Gave it a good look around and we should be okay, but you never know. On the other hand we got a good rain during the weekend which soaked the ground pretty good. More could make things interesting. Keep dry there everyone in Florida!

Hugs!

Grover

PS: In case I didn't mentioned it, even bigger hugs for you Danielle. My prayers are with you.
