The first 5 chapters of my newest story, "Once the Hero" is up now at Stardust. Several months ago, my loved one and I were watching Zoom’s Academy for superheroes. Frankly, the movie was very uneven in its direction, and could not decide what kind of movie it was supposed to be. The script needed an overhaul, and some of the casting wasn’t any too hot.

Be that as it may, my muse saw another story. This is not a fan-fic, but instead lets say I was inspired. There are similarities, but it isn't plagiarizing. I think there are some really big differences. At worst, call this a un-spoof, since it is considerably more serious than the movie.

I don't think of this as your typical superhero story. It is about betrayal, love, growing up, and dealing with all the things life throws at us. It also deals with abuses of power and zealots. So even if Superheroes isn't your usual type of story I ask you to give this try.

This story is around 150k words. I'm going to post it in roughly 12k chunks once a week. For about a week it'll be at Stardust and then I'll repost over at BCTS.
