Hmm, a sort of balanced tabloid article for a change...

Okay, so considering the publication, it could have been far worse. These two are friends and I shall inquire as to how on earth they managed to get the Sun to agree to not do their usual tricks with this. All kudos to them, they have more courage than I am sure most folks have.

Anyhow, the article here: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/woman/real_life/2591124...

So so

I read the article on Kim Petras, and describing her as a teen tranny is degrading. She's a young woman.

True,

But then again, I was not referring to that. I was just amazed that they did not do the usual this time.

Knowing the Sun, I would think they'd probably try for Teen Granny if anything!

Still, I hope I look as young as that pair when I'm 63 (or 66).

Double take

I nearly had to do a double take after reading both articles to check it was actually The Sun...
Yes, there's the occasional use of sensationalist language - particularly in the titles and opening paragraphs (plus the cringeworthy Little Britain references in the first article [Elen and Jenny-Anne]), but you could be forgiven for thinking the reporters had recently transferred from a broadsheet. The majority of the reporting is suspiciously sane - and the Elen/Jenny-Anne article even included a prominent link to a support group.

Even the reader comments seem to be fairly balanced - possibly with a slight bias towards positive.

A wider search on Google News reveals something interesting, which may have influenced the reporting style:

Google News found two more UK articles on Kim - one from a rather surprising source...
