A story about stories

This morning I woke with a story rolling around in my head that wouldn't let me go back to sleep until I wrote it down. I eventually posted it on the Fictioneer site under the name The Story. I know that may sound like a bit of a lame story title, but it kinda fit with the theme, and it was the best I could think of at what-am-I-doing-up-this-early am. It's basically a story about stories, and how they relate to reality.

After looking at it again, I guess it might seem a bit psychedelic, but I swear I hadn't partaken in any recreational chemicals at any time. Even though it isn't a TG story, a lot of the people I know who write stories visit here, so I thought I'd post a message in my blog just in case anyone would like to take a look at this bit of flash fiction. :)

Thank you, Grover!

It was a fun story to write, even if it did wake me up, insisting I write it down, at a time I would have rather been sleeping. ;)

The Story ROCKS

laika's picture

...on all kinds of levels, Heather Rose!
Its lovely imagery and makes it a nice place to imagine,
Its cosmology synthesizes diverse traditions into a cool creation-tale,
Its affirmation of some underlining meaning to our lives makes my Universe a brighter place.
I suggest you all get yourself over to Fictioneer for a look-see, folks. (Take a story, leave a story...)
~~~hugs, Laika
::blushing::
Thank you, Laika! I've had a bunch of different ideas floating around my head recently, and a lot of them kinda gelled into the story I woke up with this morning. :)
Very True Heather
Some of us blessed to be able to be a story teller and weave stories to delight others while other simply enjoy the tales.
Michael Ende did this
If you haven't read The Neverending Story by Michael Ende or, better yet, seen the first of the three movies based upon it, I promise you that you are missing a treat, and forecast that your sole disappointment will be that Atreyu (at the least, and perhaps Bastian, too) is not a girl. I'm sure that you will connect with it, as it says the same thing as The Story, and takes it much deeper.
As far as the "Big Ka-BLAM-mie" theory goes, though, I'm still wondering where they got the stuff that went Bang, "In the Beginning..."
