hoo boy, this is so embarrassing.
Okay, anybody out there know or remember where or if anybody writing in the Seasons Universe has ever given a Family Name (patranimic) to Marie?
Some where I gave her background as a Quebec native who married a US soldier killed in action or training, and in Lora's story I sketched how she came to work at Seasons House, but
I can't find her last name! I can find where she's referred to as Marie, Maria, Tante Marie, Ms Marie, but nowhere can I find a last name.
I was working on a short listing/bullet sheet on Seasons Continuing Characters and when I got to Marie she is currently listed as Marie (???).
Hardly seems fair, now does it?

Nope... Don't remember ever seing one...
So... Leave her be. She is so good, she does not need a family name. And anyway, she is a middle aged woman. She could have any number of names. Get married, change name, divorce, change name back - two weeks easily. So 26 names per year... And about 15 years... There are no mentions of her private life apart of that mention of soldier many years ago... But for all we know she could be married to the groundskeeper and his "son" could be her son too.

Not gonna invent one now.. Sure as shooting, ten seconds after I post it someone finds the "real" one and posts the reference.

I also have to say that I don't recall seeing Marie's last name in the stories, she's just Marie or Tante Marie to a select few.
As for the groundskeeper's son, Marie could be his mother through a one night fling at some point. There is no requirement that she had to be married to the groundskeeper to have the son also be hers, although she might not publicly acknowledge him as such.

Don't forget
Cher is best known for one name as well. Leave Marie's last name as unknown for she'll always be known as Tante Marie, or Audrey may hurt someone for messing with her Tante (lol).

No last name ever given. ( I just finished reading the series last month). She is French Canadian and from Canada (I think you said Montreal, not sure about that), but that's as close as it gets.

I think I know what happened. It was for a,story that died of hard drive consumption. Found an email from brandy where we were talking about needing a name for some story, but that's all. No notes outlines or story fragments found.
