I had always intended to have a side story or two to the original story because Jen deliberately leaves out parts of her life to the reader and to others—there’s a hidden story that is seen from the people around her.

So, goes the story of “You Can Call Me Queen Bee”—told form the eyes of Monica Preston, the younger sister to Micheal Preston in the first story. She tells us the things we kind of assume about him in the original story, and how we would be correct about him and his friends; that they are dangerous but she fails to try and warn Jennifer until it’s too late and she carries the blame that she could have helped her is she wasn’t so concerned about herself all of the time.

The story starts four weeks before Jen meets Michael at the library in Missoula, Montana and crosses into the storyline in “It Can Only Go Up From Here” as Monica and Krys fall for one another and are willing to do a few illegal things to put their minds at ease over the past, without Jennifer knowing of it. (In case anyone has wondered if Travis and Mike got away with what they did).
