There was a problem with your form submission. Please wait 55 seconds and try again.

Went from try again to wait eight seconds, to wait 22 second to

Dear bot, my congratulations, we are done here. Don't call me I'll call you when I'm feeling less testy.
While we are on the subject. Try and rein in your enthusiasm on "You're not allowed to access that page." When I click on a story. It better be my ISP you're having a temper tantrum with.

I'll be totally surprised if you let this one through!

Not sure what you are describing. If this is happening on BC, you have a bad page stuck in your browser cache. Clear the cache and try again. If that doesn't work, wait five minutes, clear the cache again and try again. We reload our caches from our ends every five minutes but we can't affect the cache at your end.

A problem with a form submission can happen when there is an interruption in connectivity between your ISP and our servers, such things usually clear up quickly but if they recur frequently, contact your ISP. One of the things we pay for with our servers co-location space is multi-connectivity and full uptime.

The problem must have cleared up if you were able to post the blog. :)

Erin

Cache is cleared two or three times a day

A whole lot of data flows across the screen on this computer. It means I have virus protection, root protection, java protection, ISP redirection protection, and numerous other programs running in the background to "help" prevent me from getting something I do not want. When my computer goes into run mode longer than ten seconds I'm in Task Manager searching for the program which is running. If it is one of the programs hooked into the net I pull the plug to the net. There is no auto download anything allowed.

Your servers and my computer may be having a conflict of interest in data sharing. The message I'm receiving when I receive the "error" notice from your servers has only begun this past couple of weeks. It happens when I try to post a comment to one of the stories I have read. This last one when I tried to comment about Ms. Summers, Vanilla Sky story.

The "you're not allowed to access that page" happened when I tried to tell the bot "His Last Christmas" was a solo story. I believe I'm not sharing data with your bot it wants, to be sure I belong there. Why it allows me to post a blog or a story and sometimes a comment but not always, I have no idea.

Your bot must be a woman and experiencing PMS every now and then. Or maybe having a bad hair day. Or "just because I can" day.

Happens to me fairly frequently on my iPad on Firefox

I find the same thing. If I get impatient and hit submit before the specified wait time, I can go up to multiple minutes of requested wait in the error message.

It happens mainly when I comment on a story. PMing a person has yet to cause an error.

There is also a problem with the wait time specified

The first notice usually specifies to wait 3 seconds before trying to resubmit. I swear it's more like minutes before you can resubmit. The wait penalty goes up fast if the bot figures you haven't waited enough. The longer times don't work any better either. The times you actually have to wait are significantly longer than specified.

Wait

I actually encountered it for the very first time today. I've never had this happen to me before, so I was wondering what the heck you guys were talking about. Then it hit me too and I was like, oh, so that's what it is. lol

The mild frustration is real, but usually manageable :)

I've had that happening for a while now, had it happen on multiple computers etc too.
It tends to be when I'm saving an update to a posted story, I click save and it comes up with the 3 second count at the top of the page.
If you scroll down and do save again it comes up saying wait 8 seconds instead, then again and it's something like 24 seconds.

Sometimes the update processes after the first re-try (like it did a minute ago) and sometimes it can take about a minute or so of semi-regular re-submission attempts to process through, but it always seems to work eventually.
I kinda figured it was just my stories being in a 'long term storage' part of the server or something and needing to be refreshed in the active area so it could be edited again, either that or my login being timed out in the background without telling me, but if more people are having similar problems *shrug*

Anti-bot

erin's picture

The timer thing is supposed to be an anti-bot feature. If you do three things so fast on the server that the machine doesn't think a human could do it, it tells you to wait. Doesn't sound like it is working right. I've told Piper.
