Brave young lady and she is prettier that her GG sister

I've long since said that

I've long since said that unless you have experience of transgender issues (i.e are trans yourself or have a trans relative) then your opinion doesn't count. Those comments prove it. They're not just closed-minded, they've buried their minds in lead-lined coffins and poured ten feet of concrete on top of them.

Worse than that

I had not heard of 'Yahoo Beauty' before, and looked around the page. The first thing that caught my eye was an article that seemed to show how Italy was leading the battle against, er, the evils of vaccination. With that level of stupidity, there is no real room for surprise. Besides which, the term "Yahoo Beauty" can only bring a snort from anyone who has read Swift.

what burns me is....

Unless the Supreme Court steps in with an opinion on a case that comes before them on transgender rights, I feel it will take at least 10 years before transgender rights get to where gay and lesbian rights are today, and that took a the Supreme Court as well.

"Cortana is watching you!"

trans social acceptance/rights tipping point

Funny how some t folks think we have reached that mythical tipping point. I fully expected this backlash and don't expect us to reach true mainstream for at least 35 years, which not coincidentally is probably when the older opposition dies out.

Tipping point? 15 years from now if we're lucky.

What does "pretty" have to do with it?

I wish the girl well. I have the impression that California is, on the average, more understanding than many states.

But I think the comment "prettier that her GG sister" was unnecessary. Whether she is pretty is irrelevant to her right to be treated decently or to be loved for who she is by her family and friends. (I hope you would be equally supportive if you thought she was ugly.)

Moreover, the comparison of the T-girl with the cis girl reminds me of the rather ugly trope I sometimes see in trans feminine circles of TG women alienating their SOs and other cis women by insisting they are better-looking than their SOs. We would do well not to build ourselves up by putting cis women down.
