UK boy students are literally "skirting the rules" as they wear skirts to school.

In protest against the "no shorts" policy in their school's dress code, 5 boys took it upon themselves to skirt the rules and appear in class wearing skirts borrowed from girls at the school. After being sent to isolation (detention in the US) for their legs being too hairy, they shaved their legs for the next go-around.

Next day, there were 50.

One hundred more are expected to follow suit, er, skirt, tomorrow as temperatures soar.

Now who can say BCTS stories aren't realistic?

Another question is

How many of them are using this to express their dressing in public without judgement? Fashion designers have been looking for a way to expand the changeability of women's fashions to men's fashions for a while. Maybe they will have a breakthrough?

Breakthrough for men's fashions

Oh, Goddess, I hope not.

Male fashion is bad enough now without them being exposed to the flexibility and variety that women have. Most men have such poor judgement (not that some think so) that it is just as well they have a limited selection to choose from.

Can you imagine the crimes against fashion there would be? I shudder to think about it. Shorts are bad enough, except on the beach.

Shorts can look good too

Oh Penny, shorts can look good on many people. I don't think there is anything wrong with people wearing shorts away from beaches, even in office environments. Yes, where I work, some of the guys wear shorts when it's warm, and I like to say they do make them look good. Some goes for us women, although we tend to go for short skirts or dresses.

If you had been in London in the late 1960's

Then you would have seen a lot of men in Pink. I know I had a pink pair of Trews and a pink Jacket. Not the same shade though so it would have been a big foo-pah to have worn them at the same time.
Men also wore Kaftans, did their hair in braids (peace Bro)
The Stones played Hyde Park and the smell of Joints was everywhere.
Ah, the summer of love.
Don't say, if you can remember the 1960's, you weren't there. I was in '68 and '69. It all seemed to peter out in 1970 after Jimmy died.
