Thanks to all the folks who P.M.'d me. ....kind of a 'wellness check'.
I'm fine. My muse..... seems to be M.I.A.
Against my better judgement, I'm a few keystrokes away from posting the stuff I've been holding back. It feels forced and ...not good enough.... to post.
Still, the need to prove that I haven't been 'slacking off' is overpowering my lack of confidence in the stuff I'm ....laboriously... cranking out. When entwined with the muse, things just ....flowed.
I'd post them before I had time to doubt myself (or the muse) and - surprisingly - the reaction was far more positive than I'd expected.
After such a long spell of self-doubt.... feeling abandoned by the muse.... I'm grudgingly thinking of posting my muse-less prose.... if only to prove to people why I kept this sub-standard stuff to myself.
I guess, as one correspondent suggested, it's not really for me to decide....
So... time to put up the stuff I feel has potential - not yet realized (or at least sufficiently polished).
Sigh.

i say go ahead and post, comments on your posts might awaken your muse and you can always revise the posts to your stories. i am glad that you are still around. good luck with your writing.

I feel your pain - my muse also went MIA and took 2 years to return even so I feel the stuff I'm posting now somehow is lacking and that feeling is ------------- well crap.
Maybe you are being over critical of your work I have just read Roomies and can't figure out if this is pre or post missing muse the writing's good and the story flows.
In the end it's your decision after all every story is your child who you rear up as best you can and then finally let it make it's own way in the world.
BUT I'm happy that you are well and considering continuing your work

You're back
You're here, you're healthy, and you're stories continue. That is HUGE IMHO. If your muse takes a while to get back in tune to your satisfaction then I'm sure it will happen.
That you continue to provide stories for everyone's enjoyment a gift to the site. I for one didn't see any issues with your new chapter. If you need to take things slow then that's Ok too IMO. Welcome back.
