Corralling a Muse

Okay so I got a really big monkey that has been lately standing nearby throwing his wrench into my writing for the past year or so.

The Good: My little 9 year old wants to learn to play the violin, so I bought her one and have been teaching her. Also bought myself a new electric one. This caused me to get back into playing music and ended up buying myself a new 6 string guitar (gorgeous Fender with a mahogany top)

The Bad & The Ugly: Lower back surgery. Work hours going changing in the summer to save money on A/C. I could really rant here but those are the two biggies of the bad & ugly. But I still do the glass is half full on these, I get paid good and other than the stupid hours in the summer I have very few complaints at work. Well they could let me use a tazer to get some of the guys off their ass and working, but that will never happen. And I'm not being fitted for a wheelchair :)

So between working the rust off my musical talent (or lack thereof) lately I have been working on continuing the stories I have posted.

The new Enchanted Valley story will only have one possibly two more sections to post. I am currently editing it.

Super Soldier and Kelly's story have not been abandoned, just had to let the muse go astray for a bit with the Enchanted Valley story. And there is even more to come with For better or Worse.

Tree Hugger on the other hand I have put on hold, I actually have quite a bit more of it written but the 1st part that I posted isn't sitting well and I know could be written better so I will come back to that one later to do a rewrite before posting more of it.

Thanks for letting us know. xD

I'm glad you are doing well, overall. :)
note: If you want to get them moving, a tazer won't do it, but if you were to use a cattle prod.... that hurts and won't incapacitate them. Or you could just charge a capacitor and toss it to them..... heeheehee

I remember when I was learning to play a guitar... I would spend hours almost every day. My mom said she loved hearing me play, that is was one of the high points of her day.

Have a great Summer,

Maybe a tazer...

won't get them moving but it sure would satisfy my evil streak to watch them twitching on the ground :)

I've been playing for years. Guitar around 40 years, Banjo around 30-35, used to play both in a local band, but got around 10 years of rust to scrub off both of those.Violin I just started this year, I was debating on buying a good keyboard or fiddle and teaching myself when the little one said she wanted to learn the violin, so my choice was made.

My mom's favorite song was Roy Acuff's Wabash Cannonball, one of my highlights as a teen was secretly learning to play it and mimic the way he sung it and then play it for my mom :)

If you use a Cattle Prod they are color coded.

The color code basically helps you know what strength of a prod you are using, my brother knew a mean SOB at the Feed Store he worked at in high school. The guy took a Red one ( strongest one if I remember, can make a 2K pound Bull give you space) and he swapped the capacitors with bigger ones almost doubled its zap. the guy used it on a co-worker dozing in the warehouse, well my brother said he had never saw a guy jump so high. No one else fell asleep in there ever again.

Actually

Most the guys I work with will not come within 20 feet of me if I have anything electronic in my hands due to my perversity in building electronic "toys" when I'm bored, that bite :)

Happy

Happy that will be more of Kelly and Soldier stories, Nice that you are teaching daughter to play music. Work is a 4 letter word and will be as it may something that is hard to change
Get your back better soon

Wait did my muse energy booster mission fail?

Dang it!

I guess sending a muse a cake laced with caffeine to keep a cop awake for a month, enough sugar to put a toddler on mars, enough adrenalin to jumpstart an elephants heart, and well I cant name everything else.....

Has backfired, guess I will have to find a new plan! -_-

LOL

You should have used Devisor coffee.... I'm immune to the normal stuff as I drink so much of it, normally refill my 24 ounce insulated cup at least once a day and sometimes twice.

Your lucky....

I was about to come hunt you and your finicky muse down...I love Kelly...She is so adorable! Can't wait to see more of Super Soldier as well. =)

If I can ever...

Get more time to myself to write!

LIke today the 9 year old said she was going to practice her violin, figured great she will go do that and I can write... Boy was I wrong, not a minute after she went out on the porch to practice I heard, "Can you come out with me? I need you to show me what to do again I already forgot." No sooner than I had shown her what I wanted her to do, she got up went inside and brought out my fiddle case asking me to play along with her.
