I'm in the middle of a struggle that is costing me lots of emotional strength and my two best friends don't even care, and in fact view my efforts in this area as fruitless, even silly. I don't force my views on others but if they decide to ridicule my own, there is no respect; they seem to feel they have a right to tear at things that make all the difference to me, the only reason I stay alive.
What is happening just now just had a minor breakthrough and I do not know if my efforts will come to fruition or when but my hopes are higher that they will. Slowly, painfully slowly, the world is getting better for folk like us, and particularly like me. If you can not support me, please try to be happy that this work is moving forward, one drop of blood at a time. Those of you who pray, please say one for this work.

Friendships
A "friend" provides emotional support in a non-judgmental manner. Those who do not are still far from being friends... more like casual acquaintances. A friendship can be a difficult relationship to build. Is the relationship with either of them open and supportive enough that you can communicate your need for their emotional support for you and your goals?
Do you know why they have these attitudes? Why they feel the need to undercut your attainment of your goals?
Is the basis for these "friendships" sufficient for you to keep nurturing the friendships? Or should you work toward developing true friendships elsewhere?
Sorry I have more questions than answers. I wish you the best in sorting out this quandry.
