with a new book - sounds sensible. 1st June here, 11 degC, rain roaring in on a nasty Northerly. New Gaby arrived, so turn the heating back on...

"Reach for the sun."

I've escaped (for the time being)

Saw temperatires of 94F earlier today (Wed) as I drove along Route 50 in Nevada from Ely to Reno. It was a cool 42F when I set out.
Hardly a cloud in the sky. Almost felt sorry for those back home in the UK. (I did say almost. This is too hot for me)

no idea

What those temperatures are - guess it's an American thing!

Fahrenheit to Centigrade

Ban nothing. Question everything.

Converting

I usually type 'xx c to f' or 'xx f to c' in the Google search bar and the Google gods give me the answer.

The lazy way

I got an app from the Android site that is an all purpose converter. Money, length, temps, all that plus more. All you have to do is select what your data is (like CM to inches, or £/$ to €), plug in your data and it'll give you the converted data. Much easier on my last few brain cells!

I went outside once. The graphics weren' that great.

American things

"Fahrenheit" sounds like a good American name. Has Gabby been to Danzig?

Temperature Scales

From a utilitarian perspective, Fahrenheit is superior for weather and Celsius is superior for cooking. Why? Water freezes at 32 degrees, Fahrenheit, and boils at 212 degrees, Fahrenheit. Please observe that most weather situations lie between 0 and 100 degrees, Fahrenheit. Celsius is good for keeping cooking temperatures relatively low, numerically, and Fahrenheit does not. You will see recipes stating a 450 degree, Fahrenheit, oven.

Now for some bits of trivia. Fahrenheit and Celsius coincide at minus 40 degrees, which happens to be the freezing point of mercury. Normal human body temperature is 37 degrees, Celsius, and 98.6 degrees, Fahrenheit.
