The oriechtomy went well, but the spinal anesthetic wearing off is as painful as local from getting a filling in your teeth.

5:45 check-in for 7:45 surgery time. Was out before 11:30

gonna go lie down after I finish eating.

Ice and Motrin

I had my Orchi in early 2005 when I was 58. The doc used a local, and it was over in 20 minutes with most of the time being to wait for the shot to take effect. He used a 3 mm incision and fished first for one and used cautery to excise the vas deferens and bleeders, then he fished for the other one and did the same.

Did the same as you, but had to lie about having someone to take me home. That was a very small issue. God home, and used Ice and Motrin and was up and about in around 3 days and completely healed in a week, the biggest issue was getting back in to have the stitches out, though they might have been that kind that dissolve on their own.

I waited until 2007 to do the full SRS. Yeah, no big deal. The Doc said that prostrate cancer should not be an issue in the future, and to keep on with my Estrogen.

Sorry you are in pain.

I also had a spinal. it was very effective and while I could move my legs 2 hours after surgery... the numbing effect lasted 8 hours from injection and I had only T3s for my regular arthritic pain. My 'site' felt like I was kicked but like it was a few hours ago...

I was fine from day one. I didn't sleep before surgery... and I was an inpatient (in hospital) due to 'sleep apnea' which can be seriously impacted by spinals. So I got 9 hours sleep after it was over.

There was some blood in my urine but that didn't last but a few hours. Post op... I had worsening discomfort (never rose to the level of 'pain') and felt kicked. That faded and I'm still smiling.

They had to pry the smile off my face. I love being able to close my legs without this deformity in the way!

Dayna.

ps. Orchiedectomy. Orchied - ectomy. is that like being deflowered?
