Will they be the same

when they're 35, married with two kids? Remember as well that these things swing back and fore like pendulums. The right/conservatives are waiting in the wings for their chance to denounce anything but black and white definitions. You can see this in Europe with the rise of Neo Nasties who are using the Syrian refugee crisis to stir up hatred and unrest against Moslems, unaware that their behaviour is very similar to the nutters in Isil. As the West declines and China and India expand, it will be interesting to see what happens.

Painful pigeon holing.

No Muslim I know would say that Isil (Daesh) are Muslims. These Isil violate every precept of Islam, and Isil has murdered so many Muslims, though I do not know the exact numbers. I think they are murdering mainly Shia Muslims. In 2005, when I converted to Islam, at first I fell in with very radical Salafi (Wahhabist) muslims who are the main source of Isil. It is good for me that the Salafi did not accept me, mostly because I was pro American. I am still entrenched in Islamic culture, so hear the news from their perspective a lot.

We know that young people, 15

We know that young people, 15 to 25 are more liberal at this age. They become more conservative as they get older, have
more responsibilities, and raise children. But, I hope their minds don't close up and become anti- TS,TG,TV, and anti-gay.
Reality is a tough thing to embrace.

I think we are all idealists

I think we are all idealists when we are young. At a young age we hear politicians talk about all the things they will give us and we think how great that would be. It's when we get older and have to pay our way through life that we begin asking how those politicians are going to pay for these "Free" items that they promise that we become more conservative.

We the willing, led by the unsure. Have been doing so much with so little for so long,
We are now qualified to do anything with nothing.

Their sexuality poll is still stuck on the binary sexuality. Heterosexual to Homosexual. What if you are neither, nor somewhere in between?

Does not seem so to me.

Hypatia Littlewings's picture

It is "Heterosexual TO Homosexual" emphasis on the "to". They seem to be measuring on a scale, I'm not sure what else you could measure. The survey does acknowledge variation and points in between, the binaryis just a place to start.

Quote:
""On a scale of zero to six, where zero signified "completely straight" and six meant "completely homosexual," more than a third of the young demographic chose a number between one and five, indicating that they were bisexual to some degree. Only 24 percent of their older counterparts identified this way.""

Now gender identity is a different question then sexuality. But it seems they touch on that too, by talking about using gender neutral pronouns etc. Was the survey lacking? Yes. But it does seem to indicate more openness to those who do not fit the binary, and more who are admitting they don't fit that binary.

To others commenters (and all in general):
Let's hope they do NOT out grow this attitudes as some have suggested may happen as they age.
