Entries are short, and the deadline is near.

I was going to ask if people wanted an extension, but eh, I'll just go ahead and do it. The March "On An Adventure!" contest deadline is being moved to the 19th, giving interested authors who have uncompleted stories an extra week to finish them, with votes likely being tabulated the 24th.

Please, more entries! Everything's been great so far, but a contest without competition isn't a contest at all!

I started but just disqualified myself

I started on the 1st March, but have just disqualified myself by reaching 32,000 words at nine o'clock this evening and am not even half way.
I am just crap at a short story.. this one was a time-slip pirate adventure, involving treasure, ghosts and my usual hero who becomes a heroine.. sorry, but I suppose the end result will be around 78,000 words and I may be pushed to reach the end by the 19th.

Anyone who considers 10k words

to be a "short story" is more than welcome to see how far they can take things. Disqualified? Perhaps... but it'll sure be epic when we see it!

Don't need to finish it in a day?

You know we always put these things off until the last minute. I figured I'd toss something on the pot. Suddenly it kept growing on me. I have a hard time handling short stories. Not enough time to build the characters and the story plot. Then the stupid story turned into a runaway train and I lost control. Who the heck writes these stories anyway? Obviously not me. Oh well, when they are finished they are as new to me as they are any other reader who has never seen them.

And then someone said "extension". Ah ha, now I don't have to take another stab at it until the 19th. Why do now what we can put off till yonder?
