Hey y'all! I'm new on this website, and was hoping for some suggestions on authors or stories to check out! If you could help that'd be great!

Exactly!

What kind of stories are you interested in? Sic-Fi? Swords and sorcery? Magical? Action/adventure? Tear jerkers?
They are all here, it all depends on what you are looking for.

We the willing, led by the unsure. Have been doing so much with so little for so long,
We are now qualified to do anything with nothing.

Welcome!

Are shameless self-promotions allowed?

The home page always has a list of recently posted stories. And one might check out the submissions to various contests. Beyond that, it really depends on the type of story one wants to read.

finding stories

one way to find stories is by using the tags. Each stories has tags to classify what it involves: fantasy, real-world, teen/high school, action, adventure, military/Secret Operations, crime/punishment, romantic. You get the idea. Just click on one of those tags and every story that uses that tag will come up and you can just go through them. There are so many great writers here that it would be a difficult task to list them. Also some writers cross multiple genres.

Whoizzt?

I'll throw out a few names, these are highly-skilled authors and I don't think you could go wrong reading their stories. First, try JulieO. Her stuff is mostly here on BC, a few that aren't posted here can be found on Stardust

The next author is Tanya Allen. Much of her work has been pulled from here as they are for sale on Amazon. However she still has a few that are still posted here. She writes great period fiction, her stories that are set during WW2 are really detailed with the atmosphere of the time that they will seem like they are true stories. I highly recommend "Fortune's Soldier", it is extremely interesting and she must needs apologize to none for her skill in weaving together fact and fiction. I read it three or four times a year, it is that good. She can also craft stories set in more contemporary times, so that's all to the good.

I hope this gets you started, there are some solid stories and I don't believe you can go wrong with them.

I went outside once. The graphics weren' that great.
