I'm really, really near the end now. Only three chapters to go. Unfortunately, the "little deers" still have the capacity to completely derail my time and energy.

Still, at least they now all have a home they can call their own.

My daughter-in-law has found, to her amazement, a reasonably good-paying job to the west of London, and plans to move to an apartment in Swindon had to be hastily cancelled. She of course has promptly taken one of the girls to Russia to visit her father, leaving my son to fit out the new apartment - which means we get to look after the other girl. (I get to help father as well.)

They are almost 20 months old now. They are growing rapidly now, both physically and mentally. We're getting almost-sentences and she is comfortable playing on her own, without her sister to get in her way. Food times, on the other hand, are almost always extremely messy.

It does mean that someone has to be on hand at all times and that usually means me. Now, don't get me wrong, she is delightful (grits teeth) and very loving but it means that I can't do much else at the same time. Even making a coffee gets... interesting.

Which means that, frustratingly, I have three chapters in my head which I am itching to write down and post. Most of the content of these three chapters has been determined many years ago and I just need to have enough time to myself to actually do it.

...Which doesn't help when my muse spontaneously thinks up another whole story for me to write. My mind has been stuck on a tropical island (no, not this one) for the last week or so and it is getting frustrating. That story should be 5-6 chapters and I will write it out completely before posting any of it.

So, I would like to finish SEE if I can before the end of the year, but of course it will be the holiday season with lots of distractions. I'm doing my best and I haven't forgotten my loyal readers (both of you), but as always Real LifeTM takes precedence. Please bear with me.

Only three chapters

Seems like story of Gary's visit to Earth will to say the least will be very compressed in the telling.

I've greatly enjoyed

Being an aficionado of the Bible that one of your kings commissioned, James I think, I greet any work that is not colonist gutter English with enthusiasm. I shall be so sad to see this tale end and it should be quite nice to SEE Garia back with Karin with perhaps the hint of a little one on the way to carry on the fun?

The Bikini Atoll?

I haven't been concerned in the least.

You've had much more important real life issues to deal with, and you'd get back to it eventually.

I'm hoping afterwards that there might be more State.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

State

Yes, I have thoughts for a continuation of State but it will require some careful consideration.

I did leave a number of dangling plotlines at the end of what has been written so far...

Penny

State

Just remember, that for State, you do have a complete list of characters and places as of the first installment of State. :)

Some strange, and unnamed fan of State did compile one for you and send it your way for some reason. :)

Only 3 chapters remaining?

Only 3 chapters remaining? I hope it is just an end of the industrial revolution launch 'era' and not a final end to the story.

Penny, there is tremendous potential for the universe and for you to take on the role of 'orchestra conductor' and/or 'program director'. This could open your SEE universe to other authors and possibly even other worlds (when it doesn't fit Anmar send it to another world).

Please, only end a phase or era it is too wonderful of a playpen to close off.

Other writers

I did open the universe a long time ago but, although I had several nibbles, no-one apart from Julia Phillips and Di Wonder has taken the bait.

I think several of those who enquired wanted to see the end of SEE first, to find out how the land lay, before committing. Unfortunately, it has taken me about three years longer than expected to even approach the finish line :P

If anyone wishes to write about Anmar, please feel free to drop me a line. It doesn't have to be anything long like SEE or JoB, shorter stories would be just as welcome.

Penny

I forgot! However, some things are worth repeating.

I forgot! However, some things are worth repeating. Inviting new authors to join the universe is one of them.

Maybe folks need an optional launch point for their story? (Need to send idea in PM, in case you use it.)

Thanks for the Update

I've really enjoyed the series so far and look forward to learning how you plan to end the story.

I hope you are enjoying the time you are spending with your son and grandchildren.
