You can never find an evil twin when you need one...

Actually, she doesn't really need to be a twin. And the 'evil' thing could be a hindrance...

Maybe a simple clone would do...

You know those sitcoms where the protagonist has to attend a swank business function that turns out to be exactly the same time and on the other side of town from her best friends bachelorette party or birthday celebration or somesuch? So of course, she decides she can juggle both and hilarity ensues.

I'm still waiting for the hilarity to ensue.

I really don't know what I was thinking starting Secondhand Life and Summer of Love at roughly the same time. Any time I devote to developing one leaves me feeling guilty about neglecting the other. What I really feel guilty about is the folks who started reading the stories, expecting a steady stream, and are patiently waiting for more. I feel terrible... like I'm falling behind on my car payments or some other good-faith commitment.

I hope no one tries to repossess my muse. :-P

Only Two Stories?

Daphne Xu's picture

I've lost count, but I probably have a dozen or so active stories, plus another dozen or two inactive, plus a couple hundred that are merely ideas. On the other hand, I don't begin posting a story until I'm finished. I don't write linearly, or front-to-back, or start-to-finish. As for sequels to posted stories, I'm feeling a bit guilty about taking so long with them. A few loyal readers are waiting patiently.

you write as it comes. If you

you write as it comes. If you force your writing all you do is get writers block and lose interest in writing.

"You have to feel the shot. Take......Your......Time..." Sean Connery league of extrodinary gentlemen.

I like it went this trope is subverted.

Done right, twinning trope can make a very good story.

But, the subversion of this trope are the best.

I think the best subversion was the classic, Star Trek TOS episode, "The Enemy Within". Where it turned out, when Kirk was split. Neither clone was truly good or evil. Instead, they were split were one twin has drive to do things, but lacked focus to concentrate, while the other twin has the focus concentrate, but lacked the drive to do things.

It is one better science fiction stories, in general, on the subject.

huggles !

dont worry, hon. While I love both, I dont mind a little wait ...

I love your works and have a solution to the "Twin Dilemma"

Do like me and become your own evil twin.

Though in my case that has not worked out too well as I am now my own evil triplet.

Yeah, you three wish.

Me too.

Okay make that Quintuplets.

For now.
