A lost story. I've read it several times, so its out there somewhere. The POV is British, and it reads like a Brit wrote it, so likely it is one of our U.K. authors.

It starts out with a group of university students heading out for wander around the Continent on motorcycles. On M/C #1 is a guy and his girlfriend. On M/C #2 there is just the owner by himself. So they persuade this other guy to join him. Once they get in France the camp is having some live entertainment but admittance is for couples only. The gf says she can make the extra guy look like a girl and that way they all can get in. He reluctantly agrees, and ends up staying a girl. Yeah, no surprises here!

So, its a bit formulaic, but I'd like to read it again. The first part is nicely written, with plausible dialog that is fun to read. So, if anybody recognizes it and point me in the proper direction I'd appreciate it!

PS: please excuse the spelling, I've yet to find a checker that can run across all the formats and sites I visit.

The Prom

-----Warning some spoilers ahead----

The development of the young girl that gets her life turned around, at the laundromat is that small, extra little bit that got the happy tears flowing.

I liked the excerpt at the end of the tale, about how her life and prom were possible thanks to that one meeting.

I am in the process of rewriting and extending this tale

Tanya Allan's picture

..I am revisiting this, and am rewriting it to just take it up a notch (not much change, I promise).. I am extending the bit with the meeting in the camp laundry and branching off a bit in that individual's story.

This will be reposted here, and not published on Kindle.

Watch this space.
