The BBC is to begin filming a new comedy with the female lead being played by a Rebecca Root an actress who is/was transsexual playing a transwoman, something of a first, according to the Guardian. So well done the Beeb.

Thank you for sharing this Angharad. There should definitely be more story lines with 40 year old women having 26 year old boyfriends.
By the way I doubt I will be able to see this BBC offering out of the UK but your posts are appreciated worldwide on BC.

Territorial isn't what it used to be
I've been delighted to find a number of BBC programmes available in the US via Netflix - and likely around the world through other ....less mainstream.... avenues.
I'm sure it will be just a matter of time before it is available to the world. ...or at least the segment of the world resourceful enough to find it.
I echo your thanks to Angharad for bringing this to our attention.
I'm hopeful they handle it well, I look forward to finding out.
