While you'd have to own the patent rights to the process for that, you could try copyright infringement (grins). It's nice to see some things progressing.

Invented the concept of the communications satellite. When asked why he hadn't patented it, he commented that the Americans would just have ignored it, and had more money for lawyers than him, and as for the Soviets...

There is another reason

At that time the general environment was not one where you patented everything in sight.
Even up to the early 1980's this held true.
I invented something in 1981 and thought nothing more of it because it was embedded in another product.
Then in 1995 IBM came out with a product that ironically I have made a living off of as a developer/consultant for the last 15+ years.

So true... but still...

...would you rather be a creative author with inspiring ideas.... or someone who services muddy construction drones? ;-)
