Oh my. Did I just channel Michael Bay? :-(

I think I painted myself into a corner with Dead Ringer, and the only way I could think to get out of it was to go a lot more 'action thriller' than I originally intended.

I really want to get back to the story of the relationship between Eve & Aaron, but since they were brought together by the evil deeds of the story's villain, it seemed he needed to get his comeuppance... and since he was a covert black ops guy, the only way I could think of for him to get his payback, was by the kind of action-thriller stuff he dealt out every day ricocheting back at him. So the story's getting very ...Michael Bay...

I guess I'm not resourceful enough to find another way to get to the ending without going through ....'action-land'. I'm just counting on the fact that by the time I get through the car chases and commandos and other stuff, the karma will be satisfying and everything the heroes went through together will have only bonded them closer.

The only thing 'Hollywood' I ever intended for this story was the ending. ;-)

I Commented at the Chapter...

Without disputing the need for the villain to suffer, it seemed to me that with all the capabilities that Aaron and Eve had, there were ways -- possibly several ways, if you changed the parameters -- they could bring everything to a halt without loss of life or limb and still "rescue" the Director. So I'll admit that I hoped you could find a better way. Nevertheless, you do seem to have everyone where you want them.
