The Last of My Family

I just got a call this afternoon that the last of my immediate family is dying.
My sister fell out of bed in the care facility, broke her ribs and is in extreme pain. When they went to change her clothing, they found she was bleeding out internally.
Its just a matter of time now. Waiting for the Dr. to arrive and give her some potent pain meds. She is unable to swallow or talk now.

Oh boy

I have to call the police tomorrow.
Just found out that on Friday my ex was showing my daughter a gun on Skype. A nice realistic pistol.
My daughter was talking about it today, so we went and checked the video camera which records the calls, and there's my wife holding a pistol up quite happily showing it off.
Since she's never taken a firearms course, it's illegal, and with how she's been asking very specifically about my daughters schedule, I'm a little alarmed. Only the fact that she's 14 hours away keeps me calling the police right now.

What? Me, cynical?

Ok, I was reading something about how you have to humor small children with their various play activities. One of the comments was:

it’s very important to a child’s development to not be shut down by parents and other caregivers

To which someone else replied:

It probably says something about my family that I read that last comment as “not to be shut down by their parents and captors,” doesn’t it?

Now as some of my comments and posts have implied, I didn't have the greatest family life either.

Things children say

I'm getting divorced from my wife, after she hit me in front of our four year old daughter. So I've got our daughter and she and her mother haven't personally met since May, but talk on Skype regularly.
Quite often my wife will ask if she misses her, and my daughter if she answers will quietly say no, giving my wife the chance to say she misheard or come up with some excuse.

About private "Dicks"...

Pursuing idea stememmed from Sue Broun story...
What if all of the guys in the "seedy" joint were lured there by hiring them to follow someone? Still most of the ideas of how to continue them comes from the old ancdote where God appeared in front of the one of the intended shipwreck victims to say - "it was not trivial to gather all of the sinners on that one ship."

does this sound familiar?

Imagine the scene. A mother is talking to someone else

'I didn't have a daughter. I had a son who turned out a bit different'

Sounds familiar?

This was in a brief scenes of a forthcoming BBC TV series. It starts in September.

I wonder if it might turn out to be a tad interesting.

I only caught the tail end of the advert so I can't remember what the series was called.

I'm really worried about my mom

I am really worried about my mom.

She's panicking over having to move, she's not sleeping well, and has been very forgetful and doing stuff without thinking.

Yesterday I came across the stopper for the bathroom sink in the fridge, for no reason.

All prayers and good wishes are appreciated

Brutal but honest way to test your family.

While on vacation I visited with my family this past weekend. I found a easy way to test someone to see how they would react to a trans person. When someone is nice and relaxed just watching tv, put it on a channel where Caitlyn Jenner has a show on. One 30 second commercial with her in it and your friend or family member will most likely reveal how they feel about transgender people. This happened to me on a few separate occasions this past weekend. It was not pretty.

had a great day with my daughter

I had an amazing day with my daughter today. Took her to a museum, looked at some dinosaurs, watched a movie about dinosaurs, and she was very happy to have a day with me.

I am so grateful I still have her in my life, despite my mistakes and my transition.

And now, just for fun, a song that's (sort of) about dinosaurs ..

my mother's guilt

I had an interesting conversation with my mom last night, in which she expressed her feelings of guilt over my situation.

She said she felt guilty that I was trans, guilty that she didn't stop my abuse, guilty about how my stepfather treated me.

I tried to explain that not only were some of those no fault of hers whatsoever, even what part she did play isnt worth feeling guilty over. I told her it was easy to look back with 20/20 hindsight, and say you'd do things differently, but ultimately its useless to do so.

Understanding men

Having been raised in a particular gender role clearly didn't ‘imprint’ for many BC readers but I thought that I at least understood males until in raising the next generation I discovered that the boys were like a whole different species. Today I found an old (2002) radio show on testosterone which pulled the whole who, what and how of sex, gender, character and identity beautifully into focus

Limo Dancing

Some of you may remember that recently I had some unexpected news: my eldest son was (a) getting married and (b) preparing for fatherhood. We flew over for the wedding in New York and subsequently to visit our twin grand-daughters.

Since then, he has declared his intention of returning to England, so we have to prepare for the hordes...

060) Checking in...

I know. It's been a VERY long time since I've logged in here. I've been reading stories as and when I can, but my internet hasn't and still isn't particularly reliable. For about a year there I couldn't get my laptop to go on the internet at all, and my phone screen is just way too small to view this site well.

Well, my sister has now thrown the gauntlet at me

I got a FB PM from her this morning. She tells me that she still loves me but because of her belief's WILL NOT concider me to be her sister. Not only that but she will continue to use male pronouns and my birth name to introduce me to others and speak to me. She says she wants to have a conversation with me about my transitioning however from what I got from the PM, she is absolutely sure that God conciders what I am doing to be an abomination.

Another Getting Older Problem

Last fall I spent five hours in the dentist's chair getting some teeth restored. Number 31 molar was problematical, but she gave it a try. Unfortunately, I began to realize a few weeks ago that all may not be well: throbbing, sensitivity to cold, and last week periods of pain. I knew it was a lost cause. Due to weather, I was not able to get to the dentist until this afternoon at 3:00. That was lucky, as there was a cancellation. I left at 7:15 this evening, having had a root canal, with a numb tongue, lip and cheek.

Prayers, and good byes for Cindilee

Cindilee is going through somethings that are really hard right now and while I can't go into her specifics without her permission it's enough that I want to offer up what support I can.

*Great Big Hugs, Cocoa and Blanket forts honey*

I just got the word that Cindi finally lost her fight with Hodgkins having been ill for quite some time and this last few kicks from life were just too much. It just took the fight right out of her.

RIP Cindi We all Loved You.

regarding my surgery - I should have .....

If I'd have known then what I know now, I'd have just had them take out the spare ... part. Sore, sore, sore, and greatly swollen. And sore. Did I say sore? A partial orchidectomy wouldn't have left anything to be sore. or swollen. and it was a spare. Damn. At least, on the bright side, it wasn't a tumor.

At least I've got a couple more days of decent pain meds. sigh.

Just wondering if MtF can get pregnant...

Getting information for my stories, I came upon MtF pregnancy which might happen sooner. Another article was about a Chinese do or implanting an egg in a man, so I wonder if in 10 to 15 years from now a MtF will be able to be a mom... I hope so...

Having gender Identity issues. Seeking help

These last couple of weeks my gender identity has been all over the place. One moment I am completely convinced I am male and any TG feeling is just a flight of fancy (or perhaps reading too much BC), the next moment I am absolutely certain that if I would awake a woman the next day it would be 45 years too late.

I could sure use some helpful pointers to help me figure out what it is that I am.

Fingers crossed please.

I found a lump somewhere where it's not supposed to be - enough to worry about testicular cancer. Initial screening indicates that it's most likely NOT cancer, but a cyst. Because of its position, it's been causing significant pain, so tomorrow I go under the knife to get it removed (and biopsied if necessary).

I'm always nervous about full anesthesia; complications can always happen. So if you have a moment tomorrow morning, please cross your fingers or send a wish my way.

My weekend with Samantha was awesome

Well, Samantha is back home with her mother, and I can say that it was an awesome time having her here.

We watched videos, we attempted to make rice crispie square Christmas trains (and had more fun failing than I think we would have had if they had turned out perfectly), and I got to be more of a parent than I think I've been since she was born.

She's turning into a kind, thoughtful, and responsible young woman, but one who can still enjoy being silly too.

Sighs ... I already miss having her here ...

Another year, another disappointment

Another birthday come and gone. On the boards where people knew that Oct 11 is my b'day, I got 1 message. One. Family was gone today at drama stuff, so I was alone - again. Neither sibling called.

The whole thing is depressing. Wish it didn't exist. Wonder if the world would notice if I didn't...
