Stand Strong

For those of you that don't know of it or just not following it, this is a webcomic "Rain", about a MTF transsexual named Rain. She is trying to juggle her changing life, deal with friends both knowing and unknowing, attempting to live through a sort of RLT; all while attending high school. The page just posted, Rain p383, has a gay friend/sorta boyfriend, Rudy, sum up Rain's reality and why he loves her.

Random Ramblings

Before I say (write?) anything else, I'd like to extend my thanks publicly to Jaci and Dorothy for allowing me to be part of their crazy little gathering. Yes, folks, I actually survived an online conversation with those two. Though I have to say my participation was mainly limited to laughing hysterically at their antics--more, in fact, than I believe I've done in a long time.

Well, since I'm shy and unassuming: Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is the big 70 for me, and all things considered, it beats the heck out of the alternative. Those who knew me as a teen looked at me, shook their heads and said, "That crazy SOB will never see 30". Well to all of them: Raspberries!

I'm still around and going strong, and whats more I've had fun every day of my life. Though I gripe and bluster a bit on occasion, What's the point of being 70 if you can't be a little curmudgeonly once and a while? But I want you all to know that I love and respect everyone here and that you are all my adopted family.

Thank you BCTS

I wanted to say a special thank you to all of you who have blogged or posted stories here or on BTCS's sister sites. In the 3 years that I have been visiting BCTS I have read a lot in order to better understand myself and other people's orientations.

Firefox geek needed

I need the assistance of someone who knows all the ins an outs of Firefox 22.0. I've been running Firefox as my preferred browser for many, many years and it's always performed beautifully. Then last week, suddenly it's incompatible with my Windows 7 home premium OS. They've been getting along famously for a year and a half and now I can't get it to fully load. It starts and then without even starting to display it quits.

Weight loss support group

Dorothy and I have been talking about starting a support group for those of us who want to shed some weight. I've tried some groups online and they've not been much help. They don't understand us or our special needs. At one when I admitted my age, I was told politely that the group was for younger people. At another when I foolishly revealed myself to a woman who I thought had become a friend, she outed me to everyone and I was asked to leave.

Here's part of my last message to Dorothy:

a heartwarming and heartbreaking story all in one

I don't know if any of you are familiar with the story of little Logan Stevenson, the little 2 year old boy who was suffering from cancer and served as the best man at the wedding of his parents over the weekend. Sad to say little Logan lost his battle and died Monday night. It was such a sweet story to read and yet it just tears your heart out. If there is one thing in this world that will get to this hard heart of mine, it is child that is in pain for one reason or another. His troubles are now over and I pray the blessings on his family.

On Being a Proper Woman

Having lived much of my life in the role of a Man, changing to the role of a woman has come as a great surprise to me and it has taken place over a several years. Service in the Military was interesting, but I never seemed to share the same interests as my "Band of Brothers", and by some miracle managed to serve out my term with no serious injuries, or battle trauma.

Blind Sided

I just came across an old favorte, Marina Twelve's "Blind Sided", over on Sapphire's Place. The only problem is that I remember there being more than two parts to the story, and there are only two on SP. neither searching this site, nor Google yielded anything relevant.

Any Suggestions?

Liz

Looking for a Story... Again.

Once again I’m appealing for help in tracking down a story that I’ve lost in the maze of my hard drive archives. I think I last read the story within the last two years but I also think it had been hanging around on my hard drive for quite a while before I did read it so it could be as much as five years since it was posted... Somewhere! I believe that the story was quite long, maybe in the mid-twenties of chapters, though I can’t be sure if it was posted as individual chapters or as a single post. I can recall a little of the start and a little of the end...

Need money for rent deposit

I am currently staying at an extended stay hotel and about to become homeless. I need about a thousand dollars to help finish paying the deposit on a rental. Currenlty I am unemployed but have some income coming from my mothers estate but it is not enough to make the down payment. Have job interviews during the next two weeks and awaiting answers on on previous interviews. I had to move to South Florida to find work. I will repay everyone as soon as I can.

Please send all donations via paypal to [email protected].

Well, I basically just outed myself

So, I have basically just COMPLETELY outed myself to my mum, by accident. How? You may ask. She had just come round to drop off a few things, unannounced. She then stated that she was dying to pee (to hide the fact that she wanted to inspect my flat, of which she has no right). So I let her past the door to go. The first thing she saw was my loungeroom's mess to which she said "oh my god" and I replied "ha, it's about to get much worse". She then delivered another "Oh My God" with a lot more.....honesty.

A scrap of writing from my virtual attic

Have you ever found an unfinished piece of writing--one you did weeks, months or even years before--and said to yourself, "Did I write this? I didn't know I could write this well!" That happened to me recently, when I came across an old story excerpt that seemed too good to have come from me.

Your Ragtime Gal is Back

Some people have been wondering where I've been. So it seems only fair I should tell them.

Just to ease everyone's mind, I hadn't been sucked into the Bermuda Triangle, nor had I been abducted by aliens who force-fed me Cheez-Its while making me watch episodes of "Real Housewives of New Jersey." And, as should be obvious by the presence of this blog entry, I certainly haven't died. Though if I had, and I still managed to produce a blog entry, that would give a whole new meaning to the term "ghost writer." (Slight pause while everyone groans.)
